Funeral Director Position

Bieman Funeral Home and David Bieman Funeral Directors' Services in Dorchester, Ont. are looking for a newly licenced funeral director or recent student entering the Bereavement Authority of Ontario's internship program.

The successful candidate will gain experience working in a well-established, family-run community funeral home as well as a high-volume trade service, which does subcontract work for funeral homes provincewide. 

What you'll do

Our ideal candidate takes initiative and demonstrates professionalism and integrity at all times, both on and off the job. They must be flexible and able to successfully manage varied tasks with minimal supervision. The job includes public-facing roles, including transfers from hospitals, residences and nursing homes. Clerical and cleaning tasks and various duties as assigned. The candidate must be proficient in the technical aspect of this position and will also be required to arrange both at and preneed services from time to time as well as taking on the role of being a service director.  Salary will be based on past professional experience. 

About you

We are looking for a motivated, compassionate and eager individual looking to build their career in the funeral service sector. 

- Must be available for on-call work, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift at least 60 lbs required
- Discretion, maturity, integrity and professional demeanour are a must
- A valid Class G licence, clean driving record and access to a personal vehicle required
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old and legally entitled to work in Canada
- Knowledge of and work experience in the London region an asset
- Previous customer service or public-facing work experience an asset
